Launch of the SHORE project on Ocean literacy

Euronovia is the leader of the work package on communication, dissemination, and outreach of the Horizon Europe’s SHORE project.

The SHORE project (Empowering students as the agents of change) was officially launched on 1 August 2023 for a duration of 3 years and held its kick-off meeting in September in Istanbul.

This new collaborative European project, funded under Mission Ocean of the Horizon Europe programme, aims to increase ocean literacy and support educators in implementing a Blue Curricula and harnessing open schooling methodologies. To reach this goal, SHORE will engage students, teachers, and schools in blue projects across five distinct regions: Baltic Sea, Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Danube River, and Rhine River. The project will provide grants to 100 school projects on blue sustainability in 3 Open Calls periods, offering up to 10,000 euros per grant.

SHORE gathers a Consortium of 14 partners from 10 different countries coordinated by Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi (YTU), and consisting of 4 universities, 1 research organization, 7 SMEs, and 2 NGOs.

Making use of its extensive experience within European projects, Euronovia plays a key role in SHORE as the Work Package leader for the Communication, Dissemination, and Outreach activities of the project.

The SHORE project has a budget of 2,998,518 € financed by the European Commission for 3 years, until 31 July 2026.
