Cluster 1 – Health calls for projects in 2024

In 2024, funding opportunities for Cluster 1 – Health are divided into the following Destinations (find the 2023-2024 Work Program here):

• Tackling diseases and reducing disease burden, to better tackle and manage diseases (poverty-related infectious diseases and neglected diseases, non-communicable diseases and rare diseases) and reduce the burden of disease on patients through better understanding and treatment of diseases, more effective and innovative healthcare technologies, improved epidemic management capacity and preparedness, and greater patient safety. Available budget: 77M€; Submission deadlines (depending on call): 11 April and 25 September 2024:
  • Pandemic preparedness and response: Maintaining the European partnership for pandemic preparedness (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-08-12) (CSA) (11 April 2024, 2M€, 1 project will be funded)
  • Pandemic preparedness and response: Host-pathogen interactions of infectious diseases with epidemic potential (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-08-20) (RIA) (11 April 2024, 50M€, 5 projects will be funded)
  • European Partnership: One Health Anti-Microbial Resistance (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-09-01) (COFUND) (25 September, 100M€, 1 project will be funded)

• Unlocking the full potential of new tools, technologies and digital solutions for a healthy society: health technologies, new tools and digital solutions are applied effectively through their inclusive, safe and ethical development, delivery, integration and deployment in health policies and care systems. Available budget: 25M€; Submission deadline: April 11, 2024:
  • Bio-printing of living cells for regenerative medicine (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-TOOL-11-02) (RIA) (25M€, 4 projects will be funded)

• Maintaining an innovative, sustainable and globally competitive health industry: the EU’s health industry is innovative, sustainable and globally competitive thanks to greater uptake of cutting-edge technologies and innovations, making the EU and its member states more resilient and less dependent on imports for access to and supply of essential health technologies. Available budget: 12M€; Submission deadline: 11 April 2024:
  • Developing EU methodological frameworks for clinical/performance evaluation and post-market clinical/performance follow-up of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDs) (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-IND-06-08) (RIA) (10M€, 1 project will be funded)
  • Gaining experience and confidence in New Approach Methodologies (NAM) for regulatory safety and efficacy testing – coordinated training and experience exchange for regulators (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-IND-06-09) (CSA) (2M€, 1 project will be funded)
